SETSU NISEKO Rooms

雪ニセコ 客室

Contemporary and Japan design designed by our Japan design team for overseas guests The concept is ‘Setsu Getsu Ka’.
Since ancient times, Japan has a sensibility that cherishes nature and there are many words that superimpose one’s life on the precious form of nature.
In the Chinese Tang Dynasty poem ‘Setsu Getsu Ka’ there are the words "I think of you in the beautiful scenery of the four seasons of snow (winter), moon (autumn), and flower (spring and summer)."
‘Setsu Getsu Ka’ became a phrase that expressed the aesthetic design sense for Japanese.
We think that there is no better concept for Setsu Niseko, which respects the fellowship between people and nature, and the fellowship between people.

We then decided to design ‘Setsu Niseko’ around the theme of ‘Contemporary and Japan design for overseas guests’.
We thought that the greatest ‘Sense of Place’ for Sestu Niseko was Mount Yotei and the nature surrounding it.
The windowsill daybed bench that continues from the end of the room to the other is an analogy of the rim and attic on the outer periphery of a traditional Japan’s dwelling. The design technique of a low centre of gravity and horizontal tone was adopted for the interior to create an experience of relaxing in a Japanese-style room and to make the most of the Japanese-trimmed scenery.
