Third Place of Chikaho A stairway-like street connects the subways in Sapporo and the aboveground, has the function to attract people into the building. It was planned to contribute to the city as an underground "third place". The building name "Sitatte Sapporo" is a made-up word, combining the Hokkaido dialect word "shitatte" (meaning "see you"), "sit" and "atte" (meaning "meet" in Japanese). It represents a desire for transmitting the meaning of the place and being cherished by the local community. The wooden frames rhythmically step up and also serve as a gallery.
チカホのサードプレイス 札幌地下歩行空間（チカホ）と地上を繋ぐ階段状街路はビルに人を呼び込む仕掛けであり地下に広がる街のサードプレイスとなる事で街への貢献も担い計画されました。シタッテサッポロは北海道弁のシタッテ（じゃあね）とsit（座る）にatte（会って）をあわせた造語でこの場のもつ意味を伝える役割と地域に愛される施設になるようにとの願いを込めました。リズミカルにステップアップする木フレームはギャラリーの設えも備えています。
